The city of Naples and its province: a territory with history dating back three thousand years and which is reflected in the archaeology, the art, the museums, the monuments, the character and culture of its people. An area that curves round the profile of the Gulf of Naples, with places the whole world admires: the suggestive Archaeological Excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the impetuous beauty of the Phlegraean Fields, the enchantment of Sorrentine Peninsular and the Islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida, the Vesuvius with memories of ancient destructions, the trails of great travellers fro past centuries and the firm tracks of people of today who have established themselves there renouncing their places of origin by choice.
Much has been said and written about this land, and, nevertheless, much still remains in the uncertainty of superficial knowledge, specially tourism under the sign of “byte and runaway”, which tries, in the compression of absurd times, to give something of everything, sometimes in small doses that, in the end, don’t satisfy the expectations of the guest and don’t do give justice to the area.
This section of the website is offered as a bridge between visitor and land welcoming him, showing him everything there is to see, suggesting itineraries, recommending destinations, but leading him a choice, following him own impulse and preferences in the knowledge, however, of all that is available, and that it belongs to everyone, even to the visitors, and to those who want it to be. All of which response completely to the programmes and directions of the Campania Region and the Councillor Ship for Tourism, that have recently been enriched with the City of Science in Bagnoli, the Submerged Archaeological Park of Baia and restored Virgilian Park in Posillipo.
