Via San Gregorio Armeno in Naples - Nativity Scenes for all

As always, the Neapolitan Christmas festivities and events revolve around the Nativity Scene.
A very popular street in this period is Via San Gregorio Armeno, in the heart of Ancient City centre of Naples.
There one can find a large concentration of workshops and stalls of the craftsmen who, according to a centuries old tradition, present the settings, figurines and anything else that might be necessary for setting up Nativity Scenes of large dimentions or even tiny Scenes that can beplaced under a glass bell...

Antique Nativity Scenes can be visited at the San Martino Museum (on the Vomero hill), at the Royal Palace (where there is the Bank of Naples' composition), at the Santa Chiara Complex (Piazza del Gesù) and in the following Churches: Gesù Vecchio (Via Paladino), Santa Maria in Portico (in the strett of the same name, off the Riviera by Chiaia) and San Nicola alla Carità (Via Toledo, near Piazza Carità).

From December 8 to January 16 in the monumental complex of the Church of Gesù Nuovo, in Piazza del Gesù, the Neapolitan Nativity Scenes Association exhibits its Nativity Scene artwork.

How you can get there from the Hotel
From the Piazza Amedeo Station take line 2 on the subway, in the direction of Gianturco, and get off in Piazza Cavour (second stop). From Piazza Cavour enter in Via Duomo (or Via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli): the Ancient City centre of Naples is at about 200 metres.
